The Ultragrippa - this is a well known tyre, but now only the Sportway version is legal in Autograss. This is a good compromise for those who don't want to, or cannot afford to, keep a selection of differing tyres for differing tracks. The pattern is suited to loose tracks, but can also handle hardening tracks, as it does not move so easily as other knobbly patterns. In the mini size, this makes a very good intermediate tyre, when the AT2 begins to twist and marble. There is also a range of sizes not available in other patterns - for instance for drivers who still wish to use older 13 inch sizes such as 185.70R13. The largest size is popular amongst specials drivers as a wet weather tyre. All Ultragrippas are made in "S" compound apart from the 145R10 which, to comply with NASA regulations, is made in "M" rubber. See below for the sizes available.
